A DISCUSSION WITH CECILY ROSS AND MICHAEL PETERMAN, MODERATED BY HUGH BREWSTER

Susanna Moodie, an early 19th century pioneer to Hamilton Township, is an influential and important early Canadian author.  Roughing It In the Bush, her personal account of pioneer life in Upper Canada, is often read on university Canadian literature courses.
Cecily Ross is an award winning Canadian author and journalist.  Her work has been published in “The Globe and Mail”, “Chatelaine” and other newspapers and publications across Canada
Michael Peterman is Professor Emeritus at Trent University.  He has published several books on the two pioneer Upper Canada sisters Susanna Moodie and Catharine Parr Trail.
Hugh Brewster is an historian and playwright.  His play “Last Day, Last Hour” was the centerpiece of Cobourg’s Armistice 1918 celebrations held here last fall.

Victoria Hall Volunteers assist the Town of Cobourg with the preservation of historical and heritage aspects of Victoria Hall in Cobourg through fundraising events such as this exciting discussion on the life of Susanna Moodie to be showcased in The Concert Hall on Wednesday May 15, 2019
